AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF RESEARCH:

Its main aim is to find out the truth which is hidden and which has not been discovered as yet. Though each research study has its own specific purpose, we may think of research objectives as falling into a number of following board groupings:

1. Exploratory or formulative research studies
2. Descriptive research studies.
3. Diagnostic research studies.
4. Hypothesis- testing research studies.

TYPES OF RESEARCH:

Classification-I. A general classification differentiate research in three categories

1. Fundamental research
2. Applied research
3. Action research

Classification–II. A comparative classification differentiates research in various pairs according to the form and objective of research.

1. Description vs analytical
2. Applied vs Fundamental
3. Quantitative vs Qualitative
4. Conceptual vs Empirical
